This international colloquium will bring together researchers working at the forefront of multiscale modeling and computational mechanics of amorphous materials. The meeting will explore how molecular-scale mechanisms can be systematically connected to continuum descriptions to better understand and predict the mechanical behavior of glasses, polymers, and other amorphous solids.
The scientific program will cover homogenization and FE² methods, coarse-graining, heterogeneous multiscale approaches, and concurrent coupling techniques, with particular emphasis on the multiscale mechanisms underlying deformation, damage, and fracture.
Emerging topics, including thermodynamically consistent coupling, uncertainty quantification, surrogate modeling, and data-driven approaches, will provide further perspectives on the development of predictive multiscale frameworks.
By bringing together researchers from mechanics, materials science, physics, chemistry, and applied mathematics, the colloquium aims to foster interdisciplinary exchange, identify key scientific challenges, and stimulate new collaborations at the interface between scales and disciplines.
